A Visual is Worth a Thousand Words

Our team is dedicated to showing the truth of life to every patient we see. One of the ways we do that is by showing them accurately sized fetal models. It’s hard to believe, but there are very limited resources available that show the size of a developing first-trimester baby in utero. After exhausting our efforts to find such a model, we turned to our faithful volunteer, Marty, for help.

Marty is the owner of a 3D printer, so we wondered if there was a way to create medically and developmentally accurate fetal models using her unique skills. After doing some research and finding suitable files for this kind of specialty printing, she got to work.

To make the models as accurate as possible, Marty worked alongside our medical staff through several rounds of prototyping, refining the finished product into an increasingly beautiful result. The details produced through her work using the printer are remarkable. Even the smallest models have distinguishable fingers and toes. The tiniest parts of a forming human life can be clearly seen through each successive display of growth.

Even more than a medical tool, these beautiful models feel like an artistic display of our Master Creator’s handiwork. We’re so thankful for this resource to offer our patients as we champion the value and humanity of the unborn.
