There are moments in ministry when God opens a door so wide that all we can do is stand in awe of His faithfulness. One took place about a year ago when we began serving patients at Blue Ridge Women’s Center’s (BRWC) new location at 325 Elm Ave. SE. Today, we are thrilled to share another one of those moments with you.
Because of God’s incredible provision, we received a grant from Save the Storks, a national pro-life organization, which covered the entire amount needed to purchase a Mobile Medical Clinic (MMC)!
This is more than a vehicle. It is a ministry on wheels—a place where hope, truth, and compassionate medical care will encounter women at one of the most critical moments of their lives.
For more than 40 years, our pregnancy center has opened its doors to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Every day, we provide free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, education, practical resources, and the hope of the Gospel.
Yet we know there are women who never make it to our center. Instead, they drive directly to the abortion clinic, often believing abortion is their only option. We believe that meeting women where they are and caring for them through a holistic approach is one of the most powerful ways to demonstrate the love of Christ.
Parked near abortion clinics, the MMC will offer the same medical services that we always have at BRWC. They will receive information about all of their options. It is especially important they get an ultrasound and are told the truth about abortion, the procedures and risks, before rushing to make a decision with eternal consequences. After the initial MMC consultation, follow-up visits will be referred back to the BRWC team at Elm Ave.
While the vehicle has been purchased, our work is just beginning. We are preparing policies and procedures, staffing plans, medical equipment, volunteer training, and operational systems to ensure this ministry serves women with excellence, compassion, and professionalism from day one.
