Pausing to Reflect on Partners and Provision

In my first six months in this position, it has become abundantly clear that God’s hand rests firmly upon this ministry. This is most evident in how He calls ministry partners to walk alongside us and provides the resources necessary to carry out our mission.

Every life touched through Blue Ridge Women’s Center (BRWC) is possible because faithful friends like you choose to stand with women, men, and families facing unexpected pregnancies. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement continue to make a lasting difference throughout our community.

Some highlights…

  • This year, 200 walkers raised $120,883 for the Walk for Life on May 2 at Wasena Park, where the joy, fellowship, and enthusiasm our community has for this mission was on full display!
  • We’re deeply grateful for the 46 churches and their members who have participated in our Baby Bottle Campaign (BBC)! Every bottle filled reflects hearts committed to protecting life and sharing the love of Christ with those who need it most. (We are still about 17% shy of our 2026 goal, so if your church feels led host a BBC, please give Kelly Wolfe a call at 540-362-3007 x250!)
  • Many thanks to those who contribute their time – our faithful volunteers and the churches, small groups and individuals who donate diapers, clothes and other baby provisions, cook freezer meals for new moms and deliver freshly cooked hot meals for our Support Center clients to enjoy during parenting classes. Many of those we serve rarely experience such acts of compassion and are deeply moved by the love and care you demonstrate for them.

I want to give a special shout out to the Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Located just outside of Vinton and nestled at the foot of Jeter’s Chapel Mountain (which is coincidentally where I live), this small-but-mighty church has hosted the annual Ride for Life to benefit BRWC for 10 years!

This year, the former organizers, Linda and Richard Moore, passed the baton to new leadership, Buddy and June Brunk, and together they rallied about 60 bikers to once again Ride for Life. The community was also invited, and tickets were sold for a delicious BBQ lunch and 200 raffle prizes that church members procured!!

It was quite a sight to see (and hear) the bikers file out, one after another, for the 65-mile ride. They made a loop through the Bedford County countryside and back to the church with the Brunks in the rear, towing a little trailer stating why they rode that day – for life and for the Blue Ridge Women’s Center!

Upon their return and over lunch, Pastor Jason Gault delivered a powerful message about the consequences of how we vote. I and another pro-life organization had a chance to share about our ministries. Almost every seat was full, and the messages were well-received. Ultimately, $10,927 was raised to benefit BRWC!

We are so deeply grateful for the Mineral Springs community and the bikers for standing with us for life. Each and every one of our ministry partners play an essential role in the stories of hope that unfold at Blue Ridge Women’s Center.

As we look toward the second half of the year, we are excited about the opportunities God is placing before us. Your continued partnership ensures that no one must face an unexpected pregnancy alone.

Thank you for believing in this mission and for standing with us so faithfully. Together, we are making an eternal impact—one life, one family, and one story at a time. I look forward to seeing you at the banquet, if not sooner!
